Lorde remix drops from montell2099 & SACHI ‘Green Light’

Just like that, our two favorite electronic acts coming out of New Zealand have flipped Lorde’s ‘Green Light.’ After being named the “the youngest solo artist and the only New Zealander to achieve #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 since 1987″ Lorde’s anxious return (Grammy in hand) has been welcomed warmly.

Today, a club-ready remix has arrived after this video leaked the collaboration between Montell2099 and SACHI last week. Blending idiosyncratic booming production with stabbing chorus chords, we’d dare say this remix tops the original and is set for the US festival circuit.

“We were doing sessions with Montell in Wellington and this remix came about super quick – Lorde is a huge inspiration for us in all aspects of our music and we are so stoked her team were into it.” – SACHI

With a lot of remixes they’re more like covers, the same chords are used and structured like the original song. I tend to just grab the acapellas and build a whole new beat around it. I hadn’t heard the original before we started making the track so I wasn’t really conscious of that either. – Montell2099

With combined co-signs from Zane Lowe, What So Not, Mr. Carmack, and Soulection the collaboration solidifies Montell2099 and SACHI as the most exciting new electronic talents in NZ – and we think they’re only just getting started.
